WWII Poem, This one is ironic! What 'ya think?

An end to joy

goodby to fun.

Away to camp

Why,it's not so bad!

There's plenty to eat

No time to be sad.

There's good meals

A kinda soft bed

But, Good Lord, please

Make this Army co-ed!

half of my family was killed in WWII and all you can post is the lust of a soldier? you make me sick.

Who cares when it was written? People were praying for much more than s*x during WWII. People prayed for the survival of their race, yet you post about a horny little American.

Remarkable that someone had the presence of mind to save them, the precious words of a son serving his country!

A funny look at an oddity of war.  There is nothing disrespectful about it, just an observation that is humorous.

Doctors make jokes during operations.  It keeps them sane. Service men and women do the same.  It is only recently that women have been allowed to serve their country using weapons.  There's nothing wrong with joking about human nature in general.

Very much in character with the WWII GI.  My uncle was one--I served with many of them.

If anyone doubts that humor was possible in World War II, I suggest googling "Bill Mauldin" or "Up Front."

Mauldin built his career on GI humor and his cartoons are classic.

i fail to see the irony in it. It is somewhat humorous and light hearted and i hate to sound like a fun hater, but i don't think a WWII poem should really be too humourous because WWII saw the death of millions of people worldwide and was one of the most horrible times this world has ever seen
