Wade Barrett retains the Intercontinental Championships in 'Over the Limit' match: WWE News
The second annual pay-per-view event of WWE, 'Over the Limit' took place on Sunday, May 22 at Key Arena, Washington. The Intercontinental Champion, Wade Barrett retained his championship over Ezekiel Jackson.
2011 Over the Limit contest started with a video package in the honour of the former WWE superstar, “Macho Man” Randy Savage who was died in a Car accident on last Friday. WWE paid tribute to Savage with a video named “In Memory Of”.
The first match of the PPV 'Over the Limit' took place between Rey Mysterio and R-Truth. The match was decided between those superstars last week during Monday Night Raw. R-Truth attacked Mysterio several times blaming that he was the person who cost him
his WWE title shot. Truth aggressively defeated the Master of 619, Mysterio in the PPV event. He did not stop even after the match. He hit Mysterio with bottle of water and hit “What’s Up”.
The Intercontinental Championship match was scheduled after Truth-Mysterio match. The champion, Barrett feuded with his own member Ezekiel Jackson due to some internal collapse. When the match started, the most powerful wrestler, Jackson took control over
Barrett soon. When Jackson pinned Barrett for victory, Justin Gabriel ran into the ring and kicked Jackson in the stomach. The referee gave the victory to Jackson due to disqualification, but the title owner remained same, Barrett.
After the match, Jackson started beating Gabriel and Barrett. Heath Slater also entered the ring and they trio attacked on Jackson. But the big power machine, Jackson dropped all the Corre members on the floor. The Intercontinental contest ended there.
Now, it was the time to judge the powers of two Mexican icons, Chavo Guerrero and Sin Cara. The third match of the PPV took the huge ratings from WWE Universe. The International Sensation, Sin Cara not only beat Chavo, but also proved that he was the most
powerful and dominant Mexican superstar ever. The Mexican, Sin Cara is persistently securing his undefeated WWE streak. He has not been beaten by any superstar since his debut.
Another title match of 'Over the Limit', named tag-team Championship, was conducted between the champions Kane and the Big Show against the New Nexus’ leader, CM Punk and Mason Ryan.
Although, the New Nexus members David Otunga and Michael McGillicutty interrupted the match, but The World’s Largest Men, Big Show and Kane destroyed each and every member of the New Nexus. They retained their tag-team Championship in an enormous way.
A new WWE pay-per-view event, The Capital Punishment was also announced in the segment for next month. The president Barack Obama may attend that PPV event.
