Wade hopeful of retaining spot in ODIs – Cricket News Update
Despite having scored a crucial maiden century in the 3rd Test of the ongoing Frank http://www.senore.com/Cricket/BJ-Haddin-c1170 as Test wicketkeeper, saying
he is hopeful of retaining his spot on the ODI squad instead.

the void for a while and go and play some one day cricket.”
The 24-year-old was included in Australia’s ODI squad for the Commonwealth Banks series, during which his display prompted selectors to retain him in the ODI squad for the tour of the West Indies. This came as a blow to Haddin, who had been ignored by the
National Selection Panel, leading the veteran wicketkeeper to admit that he felt he had been dropped.
The 34-year-old’s fears were put to rest when he was included as wicketkeeper in the line-up for the extended-overs series in the Caribbean. However, personal reasons compelled him to pull out of the series, and Wade was granted his Test debut.
The young left-hander recently justified his inclusion in the squad with a spectacular century (106) during the on-going final Test, top-scoring for his side, and enabling them to recover from a top-order collapse to post a respectable total of 328 during
their first innings at Windsor Park.
However, despite his vital contribution, Wade insists that he was not looking to take over for Haddin in Tests, and concentrating on doing well in ODIs.
“We're playing these games then we've got a pretty big gap in Test cricket from there and hopefully I can hold my spot in the one-dayers and go from there,” he said.
The Australian team is currently playing their last Test against the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013 for an ODI series later this year, in June – a prime chance for Wade to add to his growing tally.
