Wahab Riaz expects to secure http://www.senore.com/Cricket/ICC-World-Cup-2011-c100625 emerging player award - Cricket News Update

http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755, has set his eyes on International Cricket Council's (ICC) awards ceremony which will be held in London on Monday, September 12.
The youngster is placed in emerging player’s category and aims to secure the honour for himself and his country.
The 26-year-old pacer talked to media before he departed for London to be part of the awards ceremony. He was fairly confident that he’ll return with an award in his hand.
Wahab, who was over the moon after being nominated, said, “I think I stand a good chance of getting the nod. It feels good to be nominated after my first full year of international cricket. I made my debut in 2008 but since last year I played regularly for the team and it allowed me to improve, learn and deliver good performances.”
Wahab first came to International cricket in 2008, in an ODI match against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Zimbabwe-c3045, but failed to earn a place for himself in the playing XI afterwards.
However, he has been a regular for the Men in Green ever since the spot fixing scandal that emerged during the tour of England in 2010 and forced Muhammad Amir and Muhammad Asif out of Pakistani outfits.
Wahab, who has an impressive bowling average of 23.57 from 22 ODI games, holds true that the five-wicket hauls against Indians in Mohali during the 2011 World Cup semi-final and against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013 in his debut Test match at the Oval have played a major role in him being short-listed.
Wahab said, “I think my five wickets on my Test debut at the Oval last year and then the fiver against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750 in the 2011 World Cup semi final at Mohali has got me shortlisted for the award and that really feels good.”
The left-arm pacer will be competing his countrymen, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/DM-Bravo-c1386 and leg spinner Devendra Bishoo.
Wahab feels that all four cricketers have a good chance of winning but hopes that the performance exhibited by him in Oval and Mohali can turn the chances in his favour.
