http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Wahab-Riaz-c95839 in demand, Kent County Cricket Club keen to hire Pakistani pacer for all formats
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Kent-c802 County Cricket Club has offered Pakistani medium-pacer, Wahab Riaz, to play all three formats of the game for this season.
Though the bowler has got a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to play for Kent there is likely to be a clash between his club and country commitments.
Initially, Wahab was contracted by Kent to play in the T20 league only, but the team coach, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Paul-Farbrace-c81060, wants him to play other forms of cricket as well.
Talking to the local media today, Farbrace said, “Hopefully he'll be alright to play on Friday and he'll stay in the side to play Championship Cricket, CB40 and Twenty20. We're in negotiations with him to keep him after the Twenty20 finishes”.
On the other hand, Wahab has also signed with the upcoming Sri Lankan Premier League T20 tournament that is due to take place later this summer and he is set to visit http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Zimbabwe-c3045 with his national side in August too.
Thus, the pacer cannot avoid a clash between club and country. Kent also has reservations about it but the PCB did not consider this issue before giving a Riaz a NOC.
The coach said, “We're in discussion with the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Gordon-Muchall-c1499 cricket he can play. They've got a tour of Zimbabwe planned for 20 August, we'll hope to keep him with us until then although there is talk of him playing in the Sri Lankan
Twenty20 but that's not confirmed”.
Wahab stormed into the limelight after marvellously grabbing 5 wickets for just 46 runs in the historic http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750 at Mohali.
The pacer remained instrumental in his team’s successes during the recently concluded tour to http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Green-c60723 won an ODI series and levelled a Test series.
The 25-year old left-arm bowler staged his international debut in 2008. He has played 7 Tests, 22 ODIs and 6 T20Is so far.
After retirement of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Shoaib-Akhtar-c90080, Wahab is all set to be a permanent fixture in Pakistan’s bowling line-up.
His English county career will help him further develop his skills and international exposure.
