  1. Put on some pop music and they will dance and sing with eachother.  while you are in the other room relaxing.

  2. Its nice that you want to engage them in a fun-filled & useful way.You can play games (may be you do, already),enact stories & get them to play roles, pretend they are a group of animals( tell them what they eat & where they live) or musicians( talk to them about musical instruments & the noise they produce)... I got a lot more ideas from a website recently.

  3. crafts, use any scrap paper, colored ribbons, glitter etc and give them glue, tape to make art work.  Do this outside to decrease mess.

On hot days at my daughters school they play outside with shaving cream.  Put on their bathing suits and lather up arms and legs and body then they can draw designs on themselves with their finger. rinse with a hose.  you can also do artwork with shaving cream on a smooth surface, either draw with the shaving cream or spread it on the surface and draw with a finger.

sidewalk chalk, draw a big house and have each kid choose a room to design.

scavenger hunts can be done indoor and outdoors, make a list (draw pictures for those who cant read) of common things and have them collect them.  whoever gets the most things in a certain amount of time wins.

just have fun and be prepared to be tired at the end of the day.

  4. Hmm, you might find however good and fun your idea is they may not join in if there is something they would rather be doing, so I would give them a few options and then let them choose.

Watching television(playhouse disney or some other kiddy channel)

Drawing - make sure that the kids dont draw on anything other than what they should lol, maybe put a cover on the table or floor or whatever, and dont let them use felt tips or pen - pencil and colored pencils are best!

Read them a story, let them tell you a story (obviously made up as they are too young to read), do some acting.

Maybe play with their dolls/cars or whatever, be a little kid yourself and join in!

As long as you are prepared for a bit of mess, baking cakes is usually always fun, though often messy so bare that in mind.

Play musical statues with them, just make sure if they fall over they wont hurt themselves/break anything.

Have a little 'tea party' with their dolls/teddies/action men. Let them make some invitations for their 'guests' and then just gather them all together, give them plastic beakers and act like a kid lol.

I dont know, theres lots of things you can do, just got to be creative. Which Im not very at the min, as it 2.05am and I need some sleep lol!

  5. coloring, dress up, board games, books, have them show you their favorite toys and tell you why they're their favorites, put on a play/dance, anything outside, watch a movie, just pull out the toys and start pretending......
