  1. crazy_mom's answer provided a reasonable explanation of a blog.

A Yahoo Group has many more features than a blog.  Each Group is usually organized around a theme, such as a neighborhood (members would be residents in that neighborhood) or a particular hobby/interest.  Perhaps a Group's most-used feature is to send messages to the Group and read other people's messages, thus discussing the theme of the Group.  But there are quite a few other features, such as the ability to share pictures and other files with other members of the Group by posting them to the appropriate section of the Group web site, the ability to share links of interest to the Group by adding them to the Links section of the Group, and a calendar to remind members of events related to the Group's theme.

  2. a blog is usually maintained by an individual, with regular entries of commentary, descriptions of events, or other material such as graphics or video. you may be able to add comments to a blog, but not anything other than that and it is all web based, doesn't go to e-mail

    What’s a Yahoo! Group?

    http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/groups/...

A Yahoo! Group is any group — your family, friends you see every summer, business associates, your book group, etc. — that uses Yahoo! Groups to privately share info, images, ideas and more — on the web.

    It’s free, secure and spam-protected.
