Waht would happen if plant leaves were coated with petroleum jelly?

  1. no gaseous exchange takes place so no photosyntesis n it will die


  2. It depends where you coat the petroleum jelly.

    If you coat the underside of the leaves with petroleum jelly, gas exchange between the cells and the environment will be inhibited.

    If you coat the upperside of leaves with petroleum jelly, transpiration will be inhibited, and water loss will be minimized.
