  1. You just have to stroll in and check it out .In person is better than talking on the phone or asking on the phone as the owners doesn't know who they were talking to.I find it helpful and a better discount if you do that on the spot.Dont worry,theres lots of available places to stay.

  2. We recently stayed for two nights in a chalet at Pohutukawa retreat which was fantastic. It was reasonably priced, the views were great and the owner couldn't have been more accommodating, { he even offered us free use of his Land Rover to explore the island; an offer we didn't take up 'cause we were too embarrassed!}

    I don't know where it is in relation to Onetangi Bay, but every thing's just a bus ride away on Waiheke.

  3. you could sleep on the beach is that cheap enough?

  4. Please dont listen to Sean - I work for a travel company for Waiheke and the accommodation there sells out VERY fast.

    Onetangi has a great hostel called the Waiheke Island Hostel

    Everything else is quite expensive, but if you have the money I recommend Onetangi Beach front apartments http://www.onetangi.co.nz/

    Waiheke is an awesome place, and if you need a way to get there give me a bell on (09) 300 5900 or call 0800 SEALINK freephone in NZ. We even take cars over for the freedom to see more and do more :)
