I am a high school student in North Carolina (united states) and I graduate next yea I really want to transfer to a college in the UK. I have a pretty decent grade point average, do I still have to take the GCSE to get into a college? If so does it take a long time to complete the courses to take the test. If I don't how would I go about getting into an A level school?

  1. Actually im taking IG ( international) and i think its soo complicated and hard ... but if u really want to take it yeah it takes time

    good luck with it!

  2. No, you don't have to and it wouldn't be feasible (the full GCSE course for most subjects is two years full-time). You shouldn't have to take A-levels either, for the same reason.

A UK institution will make you an offer based on equivalent qualifications, such as your diploma, transcript and GPA.

That said, it's possible to attend a sixth-form college in the UK from 16, if you wanted to take A-levels here (these would then form the basis of a university offer). How to do that? Um, write to some schools (most will happily accept international students) and ask for prospectuses?

    Hope that helps.
