I know this depends on a lot of things, but I'm planning to work at a decent restaurant on Friday and Saturday nights in a fairly busy part of town. Most dinner plates cost 8 to 15 dollars.

How many tables do you work at once, and what are your hours for dinner in say, a Chilli's restaurant? How much do you normally make in tips in one night??

Thanks in advance, 10 points for best answer!!!!!

  2. Like you said it all depends. Between $100- $200.  You must upsell plus you never know when you'll get that table(s) that tells you were great and gives you 5 on a hundred. Beware some/most people ARE cheap.

  3. (Please turn off your caps lock!)

With casual dining, your station is usually 4 to 6 tables large.

Dinner runs from 5pm to 11pm. Expect a guest or two to have coupons, frequent diner cards or something of that sort. Some folks will be bad tippers, some will be good, some will camp out, some will dine & dash. If you expect a low amount, you can will probably leave with a great amount.

I believe you expect to walk with at least $100 a night, after tipping out your busser, runner & bartender.

  4. I'd say in that situation at least $150 a night.
