Question:

Waiting for extension of study visa and travel?

I am an Australian guy living and studying in Sweden. I have applied to extend my visa for another semester: for which i've heard no response. The probem is my visa expires on the 18th Jan and I have travel plans which mean that I will arrive back in Sweden on the 19th. Will I be able to re-enter Sweden even though the application to extend my visa hasn't been process? Should I change my travel plans? even though this would be really difficult to do?

I have tried to call the migration board: but they are closed for the holidays........help someone!!

  1. / Have you gone to the Australian Embassy in Sweden?

That would be your best bet.

  2. Well if you check out this website: http://www.regeringen.se/content/1/c6/09...

It seems as though Australians DO NOT need a visa to enter Sweden.  I know US citizens are allowed 90 days in most Western European countries without a visa and its quite possible Australia is the same (BUT CHECK).

I recommend you return to Sweden as planned and immediately go to the Embassy in order to plead your case.  Since you will be allowed in anyway, I don't think you will face any major issues as long as you have proof of your continued studies.

Best of luck and if you can try to go to the Swedish embassy or consulate wherever you are now and find out more information!

    Rock on.
