  1. Well, it's an absurdist comedy about waiting for something... the irony being that they aren't sure exactly what they are waiting for. The fact that the second act basically repeats the first act, shows this waiting, as they never seem to get the answer or conclusion they are looking for. All they know is that they are waiting for 'Godot,' but who exactly is Godot? You could say that the play could actually continue going around and around, becoming never ending - perhaps echoing life itself and existance - the questions being raised could be why are we here, what happens when we die, what is the point in everything? It's also incredibly tragic, as even though the waiting could be seen as comedic, they are wasting their lives in the fact that they are waiting for something that may not happen. It's as though a single glimmer of hope that Godot is going to arrive is keeping them going and keeping them alive.
