Question:

Waiting to Miscarry?

It's officially an inviable pregnancy. My numbers have dropped and there has been no change in my ultrasound pictures for the last two weeks. I'm supposed to be 11 weeks and I measure 6.

When did you miscarry? How long from the doctor telling you that you would to actually miscarrying?

Did you chose natural or d&c route?

  1. I was 9 weeks along when my doctor's let me know that there wasn't a heartbeat anymore. I measured to be about 5-6 weeks along. I couldn't bear the thought of "just waiting it out" so I opted for the d&c route. I'm really glad I did because I've heard a lot of horror stories about the "natural" way to miscarry after you know that you will.

I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. If you need to talk to someone, please feel free to email me. I've been there and I know how much it hurts.

  2. sorry to hear

  3. I'm sorry to hear that. I had three miscarriages:

    - discovered by ultrasound at 12 weeks, measuring 7, had a D&C a week later (with no sign of it happening naturally in the week between)

    - discovered by blood test at 6 weeks. Passed naturally 3 weeks later but got an infection by then and it was very nasty.

    - discovered by blood test at 6 weeks, and miscarriage was already happening naturally by the time the test result came back. Not a lot of fun, but no problems.

From my experiences, I wouldn't want to wait *too* long for the miscarriage to happen naturally because the miscarriage with an infection was definately the worst (physically) of the three. Have a talk with your doctor though, because they'll have a much better idea of what usually happens and your own circumstances.
