Question:

Waitress introduction...?

I just got a job as a waitress at a restaurant with a laid back and fun atmosphere, kind of a sports bar but family friendly :)

Anyways, I was wondering what a good way to introduce myself would be? Something more exciting than "Hi my name is ___ and I will be taking care of you today." Like asking them if they would like to start of with dessert first, who says you have to dinner first? Stuff like that.. Any ideas???

  1. I say "My name is Maggie. unless the service is bad, then it's Rachel"

gets 'em every time. And there really is a Rachel.

  2. i am a server myself and i always say this:

"hi my name is  lisa..and i am going to be taking care of you.. may i start you off with a drink..how about a glass of wine for the lady..or some ice tea.."etc.

and after u got the drinks then u offer the appetizer.. and if they don't want appetizer give them some time to look at the menu..

u always offer dessert at last.. when u are taking away they empty plates from them..

always refill without asking.. take empty glasses and dirty plates away

  3. LOL @ Maggie.. because i am her friend Rachel!!!  we used to work together and miss her very much.. but i do like your dessert idea first though... very humorous!
