Wake me up when September ends.........?

It's September. Which means actual hockey starts in a month, and it also means training camp and pre-season will be starting before we know it!

Whether this has been a fast summer, a slow summer, a fun summer or a boring summer it doesn't matter now. Hockey will be here soon. It's so close I can almost see it. So this is when I tell everyone to Wake me up when September ends.

Question: Are you the type of hockey fan who gets excited for training camp and pre-season or are you the type who could care less and just want the actual season to start?

(BTW, It wanted to put this in 'Pregnancy and Parenting: Newborn')

  1. I can see why! Nothing says newborn like a new hockey season. Everyone's a contender in September.

  2. I'm excited about pre training camp for hockey because  is my favourite sport ever  and i like training

  3. The sudden transition from hot weather to cool weather in Calgary is helping to prepare me for hockey in THIRTY-THREE DAYS.

  4. Can't wait for the preseason! Even if its only the prospects playing for the most part... just seeing any kind of hockey after 2+ months of summer is great.

  5. School sucks, so I'd like to wake up in December, even If I miss the first couple months of hockey. Even though hockey, football and baseball are my three favourite sports, I can't get excited about the fall.

Anyway, I like the regular season. October is a great month for sports, with start of hockey, last month of the CFL season and MLB playoffs.

  6. I get excited for the preseason. It's interesting to watch young players working and hoping to make the Opening Night roster. It is also rewarding, in a vicarious kind of way, to see some of the younger guys get called up later in the season; putting in the hard work and finally getting rewarded.

Training camp is also pretty cool in itself. You can get a taste of the dream-like direction the coaching staff is wanting to take the team before reality sets in.

  7. I am looking forward to seeing how the new players mesh with the ones that have been here. Not to mention we have a new coach as well. But I am looking towards it starting

  8. ehh, i have a count down on my AIM profile for Oct 4th... So i'm not REAL big on training camp and pre-season, but i still like knowing how things are..

I just hope the news talks about training camp for the Pens as much as they talk about the Steelers.

  9. but if i wake up when september ends that means ill miss some games

2 weeks 6 days till pre season

    yay

  10. i cant want till preseason cause i'm straving for new hockey i'm tired of watching old highlights on youtube.

  11. This season I'm resolved to pay attention to training camp, just as I did with the draft - as you know, I got into hockey only quite recently, and some of the finer points wash over you at first!

But yeah, let's drop the puck and get on with it - my couch hasn't seen me all summer, and now I need to get the kids' popcorn out of it so that when I do perch there to scream at the TV, it won't be too crunchy.

  12. School sucks...and living in Canada September also means winter is just around the corner. Yuck.

But I love the pre-season.  By this time I'm in serious hockey withdrawl, so any form of hockey excites me.  But September alos means the OHL season starts....so that's exciting!
