Question:

Wakeboard mainentance?

I'm somewhat new to the sport of wakeboarding, I have only had my board for 1 full season now. Is it necessary to perform any maintenance on my board before the start of this next season? I use it only in freshwater lakes, but several times a week. Anything even that isn't necessary but that I should know about? Cleaning, waxing, etc?

Thank you in advance

  1. Nothing critical but you can

wax it, to make it smoother and slide easier

take off the bindings to clean out that area

and u might want to check all ur other equipment like ropes, life jacket, and water bags

  2. There really isn't much, but here it is:

--Make sure your gear is intact:

Your check that boots aren't ripped and there aren't any cracks in the board. Check your line for frays. You don't wanna out on the water with broken equipment or worse end up be injured because of it.

    --Check your bindings:

Make sure that the bindings are on securely and in the appropriate position. If your bindings screws have had issues staying tight in the past, a dap of blue loctite can do wonders.

    --Check your fins:

As with the bindings make sure that the fins are secure and tight. If you don't plan on removing them, red loctite is a good option here.(Be careful, to remove red loctite, use of a blowtorch or similar amount of heat is needed). As above blue loctite is a good option.

    --Wax?

Normally you would not wax a wakeboard, but I don't see it hurting anything if you did. Just use boat wax(carnauba), or other fiberglass appropriate wax.

    Every-time out:Coil Rope Properly,De-sand/muck the board,
