ok so.. wake boarding and wake surfing

im a pretty big dude, and im wondering which of the two are easier to learn, and which of the two would be easier on my knees (my right one has got something wrong with it where it cracks when it bends)... so im thinking i should take it easy on trying to jump through the air....

but mainly... which is harder to learn ??

  1. I am 6'3" 220lbs and I wakeboard without issue as do a few of my friends that are my size. The trick is getting up for the first time. After you get up you will be pissed at how easy it was and how hard you made it. sit in the water, get comfy, put your butt on the board and once you feel the boat pulling you push your heels towards the boat and let the boat pull you up.

  2. I wakeboard, I've never tried wakesurfing.  I have to believe that wakeboarding is easier to learn because your feet are strapped in.  The balancing that would be required for wakesurfing seems to me that it would be harder.  I absolutely love wakeboarding and encourage you to try it!!

    Good luck!

  3. it takes time to do either...wakeboarding might be frustrating at first but there is more you can do with it once mastered.  Wake surfing is a sweet feeling but really harder to progress with.   Learn to wakeboard first then wake surfing will be much easier!  good luck!  I love wakeboarding and wakesurfing...but I would definetly pick wakeboarding if I had to choose between the two.  Otherwise try out both!
