  1. The progressive edge is the secret to getting height.  Start out making a slow turn toward the wake.  As you approach the wake load the line by leaning against the line and when you reach the wake keep your edge as you move into the wake.  At the top of the wake, stand tall, maintaining your edge and the boat will kick you up into the air.  Increasing both your air height and distance traveled.  Speed is not the answer but helps, but the edge is what will get you up into the air.  May I suggest picking up a copy of 'The Book Wakeboarding Instructional Series', especially the second DVD of the series, Basic Foundations.  Learning these techniques will be the key to your progression and avoiding picking up any bad habits that will be difficult to unlearn as you progress your riding.  The DVD has some really good lessons to help you learn to edge properly.  If you ride with removable fins, take them out and do the exercises and you will definitely learn how to edge properly.  Your Malibu has a great wake and can kick you way up in the air.  Once you learn to edge properly, you will start getting some scary air.  The goal is to have maximum line load at the top of the wake.  Good luck, hope this helps.
