Hey!! So I am going wakeboarding with my friend and her family. And her dad told me that he will teach me how to wakeboard, but I want to know how to ahead of time, so he can just help me improve my skills, and not have to teach me from scratch!

Thanks so much!

Best answer definately going out!

  2. the VERY best way to learn is to get out with some experienced riders who have the patience to teach.  I started riding last summer (just a handfull of times) and this year started riding w/ some guys who've been riding for several years and I've learned a HUGE amount of new stuff.  Edging, weight distribution, how to turn into the wake without losing the handle on toeside jumps, etc.  If you want some basics, I would suggest renting or borrowing some vid's.  I will tell you this though, when you're starting in the water, don't try to stand up on the board, let the power of the boat pull you up and stay in your crouch until you get moving.  Lay in the water with your knees pulled up to your chest and keep the board about halfway out of the water, then just let the boat pull you up, keeping your weight on to the back of the board, you will naturally even out.  Good luck, and don't fear the wipe out, cause you will definately crash hard more than once!!

  3. after 2 years of trying to figure it out i found a great site    www.wakeboarding.org
