is there a big difference as far as how hard one is more than the other? I can waterski now, but I kind of want a new challenge, so I was just wondering if being able to waterski will make wakeboarding a little easier for me.

also, any suggestions on where to get one-not anything too expensive or fancy..I don't want to be like a pro or anything! haha

  1. If you like waterskiing you should definately like wakeboarding! But in all honesty wakeboarding is more of challenge for sure! But since you said you want more of a challenge then this will be a fun learning expierience for you. And of of course it will be easier for you since you know how to water ski....getting out of the water if very similar to waterskiing which is the hardest part really. As far as a board....I would recomend going to your local sporting goods store. I dont know where you live but a few good places are http://www.dickssportinggoods.com/home/i... and The Bass Pro Shop(not just for fishing) I would recomend the bass pro shop as the best place. They both usually have a package deal with the board and a nice rope and of course bindings included. I have seen them as cheap as $150. But if you want something cheaper than that you might want to go down to your local marina and rent a wakeboard just to see if you like it. Then you can spend maybe a little more money. Also craigslist would be a good place to look for a used one. Actually some people sell them on there pretty cheap brand new, never been used. But I would suggest going to a sporting goods shop to see what size you need. Its not one size fits all! :) Its based on height really. A board too big for you wont make things any easier! Then once you know what size to get you can look out for the right price and board for you. Always keep a look out for coupons too! There should be a lot floating around this time of year.

A few good brands are Liquid Force, Ronix,  and hyperlite.

Also check out wakeboarding Magazine. They have trick tips, cool gear and have places listed to find all your wakeboarding needs in your state.

I will put a few more links for stuff and great places to shop online.

    Hope this helped a bit!

    Happy Wakeboarding! :)

  2. hey, when i was 5 i started skiing. it was always hard on me because i guess it wasn't my sport. my dad pushed me to do harder and that could have been something to do with it. i skied for 8 years and then decided I'd try wake boarding I've been doing that for 4 years now and think it's a whole lot easier. if you know how to slalom then it might be easier. you just get up the same way as you ski and your board will turn by itself. you can try eBay to find a board, but before you buy any board go to WakeWorld.com for info. on your board. i hope i helped and good luck!
