Wakefield Trinity Wildcats announce their final squad for 2012
The Wakefield Trinity Wildcats have announced their line-up for 2012 Rugby League games on December 17.
The selection released by the Wildcats comprises of Richard Mathers, Peter Fox, Dean Collis, Vince Mellars, Ben Cockayne, Isaac John, Kyle Wood, Oliver Wilkes, Andy Ellis, Andy Raleigh, Ali Lauitiiti, Steve Southern, Danny Washbrook, Paul Aiton, Kyle Amor,
Paul Johnson, Danny Kirmond, Motu Tony, Frankie Mariano, Tim Smith, Matt Wildie, Kyle Trout, Michael Carter, Dale Morton, Matt James, James Davey, Danny Cowling, Adam Slater, Russ Spiers, Gareth Moore, Liam Kay, Chris Annakin and Lucas Walshaw.
The Richard Agar’s selection includes 33 players in total, where the most recent signing at the club is of Paul Aiton. The Papua New Guinean international hooker agreed to a two-year deal in a bid to test his derby skills in Super League.
The player exhibited an elaborate derby profile which saw him captain Papua New Guinean in the Four Nations 2010, where he demonstrated his leadership qualities to the best of his abilities. His selection will boost up Wildcats’ selection which is striving
to improve on their existing level of game, by making more careful selection for their upcoming Super League season, which appears to be a tough clash.
Agar has been very picky in his selection before he could announce the Wildcats’ finalised squad. This was so because he wanted to make sure that he had taken on board the best of bests available, which is explainable too.
Wakefield’s last year’s performance was not up to the mark, which explained why they feared their selection for the Super League Licence. However, by the mere stroke of luck or more appropriate, Crusader’s financial crisis, the Wakefield is now enjoying
the pleasure of Super League Licence until 2014.
Otherwise, if defunct franchise, Crusaders, had not withdrawn from the Super League licensing process, Wildcats were not even in the close proximity of enjoying the pleasure of the Super League games for next three years.
In an attempt of making the most out of the available options, Agar has made cautious attempt to bolster his side’s otherwise not so brilliant past record.
