Wakefield Trinity Wildcats  ink second deal  with Samy Masselot - Rugby news

The french forward, Samy Masselot, has inked a one-year contract with Wakefield Trinity Wildcats, on August 4, converting his trial period into a permanent job.
Masselot was earlier taken on board to serve a trial period which he managed to complete successfully to march into a permanent job with the Wildcats as a mid-season recruit. He made his debut last month with the Wildcats in a massive defeat of 70-14 to
Hull KR. Prior to that he was playing for the Villeneuve.
While commenting on his move with the Wildcats, Masselot spoke about his settlement with his new employers and was eager to start the next season, and stated, “I have really settled in here at Wakefield and I am very much looking forward to next year."
Masselot is grateful of the opportunity given by the Wildcats and wishes to book himself a permanent spot on the squad, by playing really well for his new franchise.
James Elston, the chief executive of the franchise was pleased with the latest recruitment for his club and put his thoughts down in these words, "It is fantastic that we have captured Samy's signature for a further year. He is an extremely talented forward
whose strength and drive will stand him in great stead in Super League.”
It has been acknowledged by Elston that the 22-year-old’s strength is his passion for the Super League which will definitely prove advantageous for him in times yet to come.
Although Wakefield were going through turbulent times this year, they aspire to improve in the following year, as they have won their Super League Licence for the next three years against expectations. They are marching into the Super League from next year
because the Crusaders had to pull themselves out of the licensing process due to the financial constraints.
If the Crusaders had not taken that decision, Wildcats were far from making into the Super League games the following year, due to their extremely bad performance profile during this season. Within the Engage Super League table they were floating on the
fifteenth spot, which would not have earned them the three-year license for Super League games until 2014.
However, Wildcats are bent on making the most out of this opportunity, and are going for smarter recruits that will help them improve their game in the following years.
The Wakefield also signed up Andy Ellis from the London based professional rugby league franchise, the Harlequins on a three- year contract, the very same day.
Ellis specialises the rugby palette as a hooker and his contract term with the Trinity will begin from the start of 2011.
