Can anyone tell me what the Gaelic in the begginning of the Parting Glass, found inthe Waking Ned Divine sound track means. Thanks, I really need it for my grandfathers funeral. Im playing the song and liked to know what the words mean.

    I couldnt find it written anywhere on line so i just listened to it and wrote it out,

    Guím maith dhóibh siúd a shéid an ghaoth,

    Is iad uilig a stiúir an bád.

    Thugamar linn é i gcoinne an trá;

    Bead buíoch thar lá mo bháis

    It means,

    Good prayers to those who blew the wind

    And all those who steered the ship

    We brought it in against the beach

    thanks until the day of my death

    This is a rough tranlation its not easy to translate directly into English, poems are usually difficult.
