Wal-Mart Return Policy?

My husband and I bought a 32" Flat Screen TV Friday, 7-11-08. We never unpacked it bc we were moving. My husband unpacked it last night and hooked it up, but it doesn't work. There are streaks through the left side. My husband said it looks like somebody might have dropped it and broke the inside glass. I called Wal-Mart and told them I still have the receipt and asked if we could just exchange it, but she said that she didn't know that we would have to wait until we took it in. Does anybody know what the return policy is on TV's, or if they will let me exchange this?

  1. I bought a TV from walmart last year and when i got it all set up the corner of the screen was discolored like it had been dropped, I brought it back a week later and they exchanged it. I believe the return plicy with reciept is 30 days, so you'll be fine i would just return it asap!

  2. As long as you have the receipt you are fine.  The exchange policy is usually 30 days but people always push it out farther than that.  You are well within that time period, no worries.  Make sure you make it clear that the TV is broken, was broken before you opened it.  Not because you need to absolve yourself of blame but because if you don't make it clear some idiot will just reseal it and put it back on the shelf.

  3. Don't worry hon they will accept the T.V as long as you have the repcit, but they might give you a hard time if the T.V has been in your possession for more than 30 days. I wish I could tell what the exact return policy, but sadly I don't know. ope this helps, Good Luck
