Wal-mart Logistics issues?

How come wal-mart has the biggest world wide Logistics that can re-stock shelves within 24 hours and a store shelves. They can get 2-3 truckloads of freight a day at any particular store. When 9-11 hit the government asked if they could use wal-mart's Sat systems as a backup?

SO HOW COME THEY CANT DELIVER 1 ITEM WITH SITE TO STORE WITHIN A MONTH?

That is Ninteno's issues.  They are sending the bulk of their Wiis to Europe because of the more favaroble exchange rate.  The prices of the units were negonated before the dollar took a tumble vs the euro and it is simply more profitable to fill European orders first.

I hate walmart I used to work for them but never again. Don't shop at walmart use amazon.com.

The problem with logistics for a mega enterprise is the fact that plan is oriented to distributing mass quantities. As you say they get 2-3 truckloads per day. They are just not set up organizationally to handle the exception - namely a single Wii - your Wii.
