I live in texas and am 16 years old.

according to my manager in walmart i will be only allowed to work up to 6 hours on the weekends and thus have to work at least 4 more hours during the week to satisfy the 16 hour a week requirement...

now i read the texas and federal laws and no where does it say a 16 year old is not allowed to work for more than 6 hours a day....

so then can someone explain why the manager told me this?

  1. I'm pretty sure its true but maybe its a wal mart thing too. If you don't want to do it find another job.

  2. i think u can work w/ an permit

  3. It might be company policy rather than law.  A company can have a policy that is stricter than the law.
