Arsenal’s manager, Arsene Wenger has gone on to state his desire of wanting to keep Theo Walcott at the Emirates, and hopes to extend his stay in the near future.
The forward is yet to put pen to paper on a new contract with the club, and with him heading into the last year of his contract with the club, a number of questions have been raised about his future.
Manchester City, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 and Juventus were believed to be the favourites to land the player, should he decide to leave, but it seems like that might not be the case this time around.
The Gunners have already gone on to see http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alex-Song-c4804 leave the club this summer, the team would most definitely not want Walcott to do the same.
In a recent press conference, Wenger came forth and revealed that even if someone does bid over the top for the winger, he won’t be sold. He admitted there were some hold ups in the contract talks, but that shouldn’t prove to be a problem.
He said: "Theo has one year to go. We want to extend his contract. I think Theo loves the club.”
"He is not obsessed by money, there is just a little difference [in the negotiations]."
However, the manager went on to state that Bendtner and Chamakh could still leave the club, should the right offers come in for the players.
Asked about the future of Bendtner, Wenger said, "There is a chance he is leaving. Where is not decided at the moment."
On Chamakh, he added: "Again, we haven't made an agreement with any club."
Given that there are forty eight hours to go in the transfer window, both those players could end up leaving the team in the near future.
With Wenger taking such a firm stance over the future of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 international won’t be leaving the Emirates in the near future. In fact, he could end up seeing out his career as a player at the North London club.
