Walero’s trainer Uwe Ostmann pleased with the runner up of the race – Horse Racing Update
The first sprint event of the season in Germany, the Silberne Peitsche race was won by the race-horse Amico Fritz, ridden by jockey Henri-Alex Pantall at the Cologne race-course on Monday.
The event included race-horses of age three and above, as it was run over a distance of six and a half miles. It was a tremendous neck-to-neck battle between the three front runners Amico Fritz, Aslana and Walero, as this battle continued throughout the
exciting race.
The race was finally won with a very narrow margin by the colt Amico Fritz. The race-horse managed to pace himself and put in a strong final leg to take the victory. He, along with his compatriots Aslana and Walero were the contenders that were leading the
field from the very beginning to the end of the race. Amongst these three colts, Aslana was the first one to fall weak and gave way to the other two to compete for the first spot. As the horse began to slow down, the other two managed to pass confidently.
The runner up to the winner was Walero. The trainer of this race-horse, Uwe Ostmann was extremely pleased with the tremendous performance of his trainee as the runner up of the first major sprint event of the season. It was also revealed that Walero is the
race-horse that performs better on soft going tracks.
On the other hand, the owner of the winner of the race was delighted. In a post race interview, he was reported as saying, “He is a very tough horse, but six furlongs is his distance, and he does not want to go much further. He was having his first race
for eight months today and was not at 100 percent, so we are hoping for some improvement next time.”
The third place was bagged by the race-horse Konig Concorde, as he took off the third front runner Aslana.
Most of the lime-light of the racing arena is on the Irish Grand National meeting that started on Monday at the Fairyhouse race-course.
