There is so much traffic, everywhere!

Obesity is rising- children, and adults need their ecsesize - so why don't they walk or cycle - eg to school - you might even get there faster - and no traffic...

give it a try and see how it goes

some people keep saying "but im about 5 miles away"

but some people live about 1 mile away from work/school - cycle..........

What do you think?

  1. I'm a mile and a half from work, I either walk or get public transport.

I don't own a car so there are only really those two choices.  When the weather is better, it's worth looking into riding a bike instead- I just don't trust the road traffic.

  2. I'm 15 miles away - what do you suggest I do?

  3. I ride 4.17 miles to work and 4.17 back. Although riding makes me feel good most of the time, it really sucks when it rains. And unfortunately my metabolism runs too fast for me to actually gain any muscle from it.

  4. You said it- There is so much traffic everywhere!   I've lived in a couple places with bike lanes, but it just isn't safe to use them.     Some people driving don't like the fact a couple feet of "their" road was taken away for bikes to use so they use it anyway, sometimes knocking bikes off the road.    Not many do this, but one is enough to completely ruin your year.    Walking is a little safer since a person can walk in the mud or on a raised sidewalk cars are used to not driving on.   There were so many cars on one road I lived on I decided with all the fumes it was worse for my health to walk than drive.

  5. I would love to do that, but I live to far, walking will take 2 hours in every direction, and cycling is too risky, with all those cars, and no special lane for bicycles.
