  1. Don't walk into the cooler so much! Every time that you open the door the hot air rushes in.

Are you opening the door to check the temp, or is it on the outside?

Refrigerators work the same way. No body can figure out why the food is spoiling faster in the summer. Because everyone is opening the door twice as much to get a cool drink! The fridge is over worked.

Imagine that refrigerator door compared to a walk in cooler door!? Twice as much cold air out, and twice as much warm air in!

Sometimes ice dan build up around the coils. Pour warm to hot water over them to melt the ice. Whew! Now the coils can breathe, You need oxegen, coils need air!

  2. Make sure the evap coil is not frosting up on you.Look behind it at the return.Check your condensser coil for dirt or other airflow problems.Check your sightglass for bubbles.Check your stat setting.Good luck.Let me know what you found.

  3. the walk in cooler should be at 45degrees to keep things cool and not to freeze

  4. Yes you need to look at the condenser coils to see if they are dirty. the condenser is outside right not inside. And when you check temp check the load temp not air temp, load temp is a glass of water in the space not air temp. Outside air temps can influence the way the equipment works.

  5. if you have a walk in cooler there could be a lot of variables that cold cause it to raise in temp! there are timers (defrost and evaporator fan) check for frost or gaps in the doorway. It would be wise to contact a serviceman to avoid any lose of food!
