does any one no how Walker road got its name in Gateshead-on-Tyne England

  1. This must be a product of the NewcastleGateshead fusion movement. Walker is in Newcastle, it's just before Wallsend. Check out The Animals circa 1964 "Going to send you back to Walker" (just after "House of the Rising Sun"). Or "Byker Hill and Walker Shore" - Alex Glasgow I think but I'm not sure - some 60's folkie though. And whatever the tourist industry may think, Newcastle and Gateshead are SEPARATED NOT JOINED by the Tyne.


  2. Surely Walker Road is in Newcastle.  I don't know of a Walker Road in Gateshead.  If you do, tell me where it is.

    Walker Road in Newcastle probably got it's name because it is the road to Walker (a district of Newcastle)
