Walki talki channels?

if i want to talk to someone else using two different brand walki talkis can I? does it only matter if its on the same channel?

As long as both radios are on the same band, they will work together.   If both are on the Family Radio Service, they will work.  The channels will be the same regardless of brand.  The best thing to do is to try them.
