Walkie Talkie cord Falls Out!?

Hello!,

i have a walkie talkie that i use and i also use a walkie talkie mic and one day i was going to use it and then the earphone cord broke off and so i was like alright i can just use a pair of earphones and everything would be alright and i could use the mic to talk and the earphones to use but when i try to do that it falls out of the walkie talkie and i am tired of doing that does anyone know of anything that will help can someone help me and i also dont want to buy a new one or fix it please someone help

  1. Dallas, can you be more specific and tell us what type of walkie talkie it is that you are using? Also what size connectors are you using? I will try and edit my reply if you can supply a model so I can do some research.

    UPDATE: I looked at the talkabout radio and at the radioshack microphone. At this rate I can't really offer a suggestion except if you have any soldering skills to change out the microphone jack and solder in a new jack.

    You could also try and wrap a small thin piece of foil around the jack and plug it in and see if that keeps it in place. WARNING: THIS IS A THEORETICAL SOLUTION AS I HAVE NEVER TRIED THIS.

    If your radio is under warranty, then send it in to get fixed. I saw that it has a 1 year parts and labor warranty, but this radio has been on the market for 7 years.

    After all is said and done and you can't find any other solution, you might just have to bite the dust and buy a new radio.
