Question:

Walking Into Clarksdale?

I was wondering what the fans of Led Zeppelin thought of Page & Plant's album Walking Into Clarksdale.

Some of my favorite tracks:

Blue Train

Walking Into Clarksdale

Most High

Shining In The Light

Heart In Your Hand

Your thoughts and opinions on this album???

Please, spare me the Zeppelin comparisons. They were missing 1/2 the band and I think it goes without saying they wouldn't be as great as when they were all recording together. I'm looking for people who can be objective. Personally, I enjoyed the album. It wasn't amazing, but it was good.

  1. I also have Walking Into Clarksdale, along with Jimmy Page's Outrider, The Firm (Page/Paul Rodgers) and Coverdale/Page

Walking Into Clarksdale is actualy a good album, not amazing but it is still good.  I've seen people bash Coverdale/Page and could never figure out why.  I always thought it was a very good album.  I love Zeppelin but find Coverdale/Page to be better than Walking Into Clarksdale.

I have to agree with Beatle Fanatic 100% on Jimmy Page's Outrider it is a very good album and the best song is Prison Blues.

  2. No, but I'm inspired to Youtube songs off it now. :)

  3. Wow !! This is Cool Info !!

    .

  4. I haven't heard it but I will have to look for some of those cuts online to give them a listen.

  5. I actually haven't heard all of it, the ones I have heard were good, but obviously there'll be Zep comparisons, meaning it is always going to be overlooked, because most people hear Zeppelin and get into the later work that way. I quite liked it though.

  6. I didnt like it at all, but my dad (who is also a huge Led Zeppelin fan like myself) enjoys it and listens to it to this day.

  7. I have that album and its very good.

    Speaking of Page and Plant:

Have you ever heard Jimmy Page's album Outrider?

It's his first solo album and is awesome.

Plant sings vocals on one song, "The Only One"

    Jason Bonham plays drums.

    Favorite song is "Prison Blues"

Another great album was Coverdale/Page which has David singing all the vocals.

If you're a Page fan you also must own those 2 albums!
