Walking vs cycling.. which is better?

what i mean is which

a) burns more calories (both activities at a normal speed)

b) helps improve stamina faster (both activities at a normal speed)

c) which is better to aid dieting and weight loss(both activities at a normal speed)

  1. 1) In burning calories, walking/running is by far the best exercise for THAT period of time. However, in the hours you rest after you exercise, your metabolism is not that high. Weight lifting boosts your metabolism even in the hours after you have stopped exercising. However, I guess im not answering your question hehe. I would think walking is better, especially if you brisk walk ;)

    3) Walking again! Oh, and tips on dieting/weight loss. Avoid eating too much carbs/food in general in the evening as you approach your sleep time. Never skip breakfast! Avoid sugary drinks & sugary/fried food. Many times to curb your cravings, fill up with water.

  2. Don't think in terms of one or the other.  Add them both to your workout.  They're both great workouts and they both burn good fuel.  They work different muscles though which is why you should do them both.  Your metabolism likes it when you keep it guessing...

    Walking 4 miles an hour (which is a good clip) burns about 500 calories.  The page below can give you good info. about cycling.  Good luck!
