Wall Power outlet is not working any more, what is happening?

It was working just a few days ago, now there is no electrocity coming out of it any more. what is happening here? Could it be termites? I didn't do anything to it at all.

Check your fuse box, maybe you overloaded the circuit.

1. Maybe the outlet is controlled by a wall switch.

2. There might be a Ground Fault Interrupt (GFI) outlet in the same circuit as the dead outlet.

Go to each bathroom, kitchen, laundry, garage and outdoor outlet and see if any have tripped. The GFI outlets and the funny looking ones with the two small buttons In the middle.

Press the reset button if any have popped.

Then go back and check your dead outlet.

I would call an electrician. My house burned down in 2007 because of an outlet that had gone bad.

Those outlets are like anything else. They wear out overtime. They are simple and cheap to replace. You can pick them up at Lowes, Home Depot or even Wal Mart. Just make certain you TURN ALL THE POWER OFF to your house. Turn off the main breaker just ot be safe.  Take it apart and just follow the same wiring pattern when putting the new one in as what the old one was. If after putting in a new outlet it still doesnt work, chances are its more of a wiring problem and you probably should call out the pro's. Or just not use that outlet anymore...hehe.
