Wall Saw surprises Mountjoy Comet in the CRAYFORD BOOKMAKERS SPRINT on Jan 21
Wall Saw, the son of Kiowa Sweet Trey out of Illdriveyahome, sealed a surprise victory in the CRAYFORD BOOKMAKERS SPRINT, on Saturday, January 21, 2012.
With a cash prize of £150, the 380 metre long Grade Open Race (OR) set off at 20:50 (GMT).
Despite the fact that the white and black dog was bumped after an early pace, he showed a lot of strength and covered the area in 23.36 seconds.
Carrying the winning chances of 9 to 4, he started off his run from the first trap. It was a comprehensive victory for S. J. Gammon’s trainee, as he defeated the runner-up by four lengths.
The second position was seized by Cals Lonely, the black and white dog with the winning probability of 7 to 2.
Crowded run-up hampered J. M. Carter’s trainee to give any sort of competition to the winner, as he completed the distance in 23.68 seconds.
Mountjoy Comet, the favourite hound in the race, finished third on the chart. The son of Ballymac Maeve out of Star Of Dromin was enjoying the winning chances of 2 to 1 ahead of the race, breaking in from the sixth stall.
The brindle dog reached the post in 23.78 seconds, 1 ¼ lengths behind the runner-up.
Bringinhersunny ended up fourth on the table. After leaving the stall with the odds of 5 to 1, the black dog, Royal Impact’s son out of Bringinthemoney, took 23.90 seconds to cover the distance.
Minglers Jaguar managed to lock the fifth position, whereas the last place belonged to, Aero Vegas.
The son of Duke Special out of Minglers View, who locked the second last place, was sent off with the winning probability of 8 to 1.
Since he went wide after producing the early pace, he could not produce anything special, clocking the area in 24.36 seconds.
The back marker wrapped up the proceedings in 24.90 seconds. Aero Vegas, the son of Ballymac Maeve out of Ballymac Angel, began his run with the starting price of 6 to 1.
By sealing the top place, Wall Saw has completed his hat-trick of victories. Since the dog has been doing a terrific job, he will definitely be the one to watch out for in forthcoming races.
