Question:

Wall Stickers?

After my older brother moved out, I got his larger room. But just a year before he moved, my parents painted it a yucky tan and bought new carpet to match. I HATE IT! So, my parents told me that they'd repaint the walls but because the carpet was so expensive, I'd have to live with it =[ I'm painting the majority of the walls white, but I was considering putting wall stickers on the rest of them. The downside: I have textured walls and everywhere that I searched, wall stickers do not adhere well to them. So my question is, did I miss something and is there really wall stickers that can stick in my room? And if not, is there an alternative to achieve the same look? Past/Present experiences are welcome. Thanks!

  2. Unless your walls are very textured you should not have a problem. Even if they are you can use small amounts of spray adhesive to keep them attached but this makes it more difficult to remove later on. Personally, I would consider using paint to express your creativity.

  4. Protect the carpet (cover it) and paint the walls

  5. Ok, just went looking at a wall sticker to see about the smooth wall (here.. http://cgi.ebay.com.au/PS58012-Wall-Pape... and they seem to sell theirs as a design yourself thing where you arrange the components of the image the way you want them, which gave me an idea.  Instead of buying something you can't stick to a wall, maybe you could get a bit of wallpaper with things you like in it, and cut and paste it into a design you like (basically doing the same thing to a piece of wallpaper as you would have to do with the stickers in the link above), so you would be pasting it onto your wall with wallpaper paste which isn't too hard to remove, and if you get a heavy wallpaper it should be fine on a rougher wall, but ask at the wallpaper shop which would work best.

Other than that, you could wallpaper that one wall to make it smoother - either in plain (if wallpaper comes in plain colour??) or paint over it once up, then stick your prefered wall sticker up, more effort though.
