Like tens of thousands of rugby spectators, the Wallabies coach Robbie Deans is also feverishly waiting to watch the game between Queensland Reds and Crusaders on May 29. The veteran coach, who has a soft spot for the Reds, said that the Australian derby
will carry the day on Sunday.
The toughest match of the season has already attracted more than 42,000 viewers to Lang Park and it is getting even bigger with the interest of legendary players. Deans told the media today morning that both teams have got real depth in their squad and are
fielding the best players in the league. He further said that it would be a great pressure game as a record breaking crowd is gathering to watch the action live.
The Reds are leading the tables with 10 victories after eight outgoings whereas the Crusaders are currently in fourth position. The Reds are packed with players like Quad Cooper, Will Genia and James Horwill and the ‘Saders will largely depend on Dan Carter,
Sonny Bill Williams and skipper Richie McCaw.
Robbie Deans analysed the contesting teams and said, "It will be up a notch. Both are genuine title contenders. The Crusaders have the history, the Reds are on the climb, they are fresh, they have had time to prepare, to plan and are playing at home. I can't
wait."
Talking about his personal favourites, Deans said that the Reds have done all the hard work and deserver to lift the trophy. He added that, "They got close last year, but ultimately dropped off at the business end and that would have been a source of frustration
to them. You learn from those things. They are a young group and you can see it's not only the playing group, but also the public are excited about it."
Deans expected a good contest between the two best teams of the season. The big clash will be played tomorrow on May 29, in Lang Park, Brisbane. The contest is very important for both teams because it will help them qualify for the semi-final stages.
