Wallabies and Wales schedule match for after Rugby World Cup 2011
Wallabies and Wales have confirmed a match after the conclusion of the Rugby World Cup 2011. The test is scheduled to be played on December 3rd at the famous Cardiff based Millennium Stadium. The test is being undertaken to give the Welsh Rugby
Union financial boost thanks to the monstrous crowd that is expected to catch the action live. Welsh Rugby Union confirmed the news about the competition on August 24 and said that autumn rugby is always a great source of entertainment for Wales’ fans.
Craig Maxwell, the head of Welsh Rugby Union for Sales and Marketing, told the media about the significance of the clash and said it will be great to see the sides playing after their Rugby World Cup campaigns starting next month. The sides are in a good
form at the moment as they have displayed some impressive performances in their warm-up matches. Wales has won two games in their previous three outgoings crushing England and Argentina in their World Cup preparations games.
Meanwhile, Wallabies have carried the day on two occasions in their last three outings of the Tri Nations Cup. The Wallabies are left with one more match before RWC 2011 against the All Blacks. Both sides have lined up their RWC squads after assessing the
players in the pre-world cup matches.
Talking to the journalists after the confirmation of test match against the Wallabies, Craig Maxwell, said that, “There is always huge demand for Autumn rugby at the Millennium Stadium as fans have become used to watching Wales face some of the best teams
in the world at home fixtures. And from Monday 19 September rugby supporters can get their hands on tickets to welcome their rugby heroes back home at the Millennium Stadium to face Australia.”
Sales and marketing head WRU further said that, “The Wales v Australia match is the perfect culmination of Wales' RWC efforts and the start of a new chapter as we look ahead to the 2012 Six Nations Championship.”
The previous contest between the both sides was won by Wallabies by 25-16 last November.
