Wallaby coach Robbie Deans wins over former Australian players in his Rugby World Cup bid
The Former All Blacks and present Wallaby coach, Robbie Deans, has gained the support of former Australian for his ambitions of lifting Australia third Rugby World Cup (RWC). Robbie Deans has been working really hard to make his side compatible for the forthcoming RWC, since he took over the team as a coach in 2007. The largest event of this year will kick off on September 9, in New Zealand.
So far, Wallaby team has made three appearances in the finals of Rugby World Cups. They remained the winners twice and ended up as runners up in 2003.  Australia lifted the Webb Ellis Trophy for the first time in 1991 after defeating England in the final and repeated the performance in 1999 while beating France. However, they were knocked out in the 2003 Final by England.
The All Blacks and Reeboks will be the sides to watch out for the Aussies in this year’s showpiece. All Blacks will host the World Cup whereas the Reeboks will defend their title. The New Zealanders are also very confident of their chances of securing the title because as hosts they had done it in 1987.
Talking to the reporters on May 30, former Australian skipper, Nick Farr-Jones, expressed his full confidence in Robbie Deans. He said, "After what I saw last year in Hong Kong I think they can go the distance. Robbie brings the coaching maturity and critically understands the dynamics of what is good for the team in a World Cup. He has been around a while, he understands their weaknesses and when he needs to get the whips cracking."
Nick Farr-Jones further said that, "Robbie will be able to pull the best out of those teams, the depth of talent is growing and I think the Wallabies are well-positioned I think Robbie has made some great choices with his mix of players and game ideas.”
The Australians Super Rugby teams have shown immense improvements in the current season. The Queensland Reds are occupying the top spot on the point’s tables which is an encouraging sign for the Australian Rugby Union.
