Walmart NW Arkansas Championship 2012: Juli Inkster says she is firm to get back on track
American Juli Inkster said that she is determined to do her best at the Walmart NW Arkansas Championship 2012, scheduled to start from June 29 to July 1, at Pinnacle Country Club in Rogers.
Speaking to the media about her preparations for the prestigious tournament, Inkster said that she has been seeking to perform well for the past several months, and this week, she can capitalise on opportunities in Rogers.
The American star now desperately wants to get back in form, as she has been winless since 2006, when she won her last victory at the Safeway International.
Analysts said that the golfing sensation has been a bit troubled about her slumping performance, as she may find it hard to get back on track, given the fierce competition on the LPGA (Ladies Professional Golf Association) Tour.
Recounting her glorious past, the 52-year-old golfer said that she is trying to regain her lost charisma, but it sometimes gets a little difficult to change. She pointed out that rigorous training on the practice range has certainly made a big difference,
but she still has a long way to go.
“There is a lot of good players playing well. Stacy Lewis is playing well, Yani. There's a lot of young blood out there, so I mean, it's changed a little bit, but it hasn't changed that much. You still have to play well to compete. That's what I'm going
to try to do,” Inkster said.
When asked which player she thinks is the most charismatic these days, the veteran prodigy said that she likes American Stacy Lewis. Praising how Lewis has managed to improve her game lately, Inkster said that the rising star is one of the prominent golfers
on the LPGA Tour, and she is likely to make a major breakthrough this season.
The LPGA giant went on to say that Yani Tseng is also amazing, as she has held the number one position for the past several weeks.
“Stacy's got a great overall game. She hits it good, she hits good distance, she's got a phenomenal putting stroke, which I don't think you can teach or coach. She's got a great heart to play this game,” Inkster shared.
