Walmart Sushi?

Hi,

I'm just wondering if Walmart sushi is worth buying or eating for that matter? Mostly because I've never really tried sushi and all the places are so expensive >.< everywhere except our Super Store and Walmart...

Would you buy it and eat it? if so where in the store would you find it? I'm thinking salads or the meat section...

Thanks, Mel^^

  1. Dont buy sushi from a wal*mart !

  2. That is disgusting. I won't shop in Walmart period, let alone eat food that sucks unless it's made by a good grocery store (like Whole Foods) or a high quality restaurant.

Walmart is selling sushi? What a disgrace to true sushi lovers.

  3. Eating Grocery store sushi is like eating those packaged sandwiches from gas stations. It's food, and it is recognizable as the real product, and every now and then it isn't bad (if you are really, really hungry), but it just kinda sucks. *shrug*

I wouldn't look for it at a Chinese buffet though. I would go to Walmart first. Sushi and buffets don't mix well for many reasons, and... It's Japanese, not Chinese.

  4. probably in the deli our WalMart sells a lot of old stuff I wouldn't trust them

  5. Sushi is best when fresh and properly prepared. If it's improperly prepared or less than fresh, as it likely will be at Wal-Mart, it has a very strong, unpleasant taste that has a way of giving people a bad impression of sushi. I would say this is one item that is worth paying a little extra to try, just so you don't get disappointed. You might check at your local Chinese buffet; they usually have sushi near the cold shrimp, and it's pretty cheap if you're eating there anyway.
