I really wanted to go to Walt Disney World in Florida this Saturday. (Aug. 2) I live Orlando, FL I heard the forecast and it was scattered t'storms, and showers. Do they close the park temorairly (short time, until storm is over) , and open it back up? Or they leave it closed? What do they do? I was really, really looking foward to it!! PLEASE HELP!!! I'll give Best Answer, and I'll give you a good rating.

  1. unless there is a hurricane, the park will not be closed due to rain. some rides might get closed (test track, splash mountain, anything outside without a roof) but the park stays open. i have been in the parks during storms and i have some advice.

if there is thunder and/or lightning, get inside.

Wear clothing that dries quickly. nothing worse than being cold and wet.

Bring your own ponchos. they sell plastic throw away ponchos at target and wallmart for less than a dollar a piece. they are about the size of a wallet so they are easy to carry. and it wont bother you when you toss them. the Disney ones are expensive and heavy. can make you hot.

Hat is a good accessory because it keeps the rain and sun out of your eyes.

most people  will hide from the rain so you may have some rides to yourself. however, stores will be packed.

  2. I went 2 years ago and there was thunder, lightning and rain. I went to the waterpark that day and they didn't even close that.

Unless it starts flooding, they won't close it

  3. Most of the rides are indoors so they don't close it. =)

  4. I went there when it was raining and it didn't close at all. In fact, it was pretty fun when it was raining.

  5. No they don't close at all when it rains. Because there are 1000s of people there at one time, it wouldn't make sense. When I went we ran to the nearest shop and bought ponchos and I was winnie the pooh for better part of the day.  It was so much fun and it was nice to take a break from the heat.

  6. They don't close the park but they do close most of the out door rides (depending on how hard its raining) but it's still fun but the wait for some rides become very long. but if you shop near a ride you really want to go on thats closed during the storm then as soon as the rides open up again then theb line will be much shorter then if you went normally

  7. As the others have already said, the park does not close for thunderstorms. In fact, if storms are forecast early to clear up by noon or so, that can be the best time to go - the crowds (and therefore the lines) may be much less and offset the increased mugginess.

  8. Disney World has only closed twice.  Both times were for hurricanes...
