I'm going to a concert at the WDCH. I wanted to take pictures with my family, but I was wondering if it's okay to have a camera on me when I enter the hall. I won't take pictures during the concert, but I wanted to have a camera on me for intermission and things like that.. Does anyone know if it's allowed to carry a camera into the hall?

  1. If you email or phone WDCH and speak to the right person you may be able to get a written permit. Talk to them before you go - it is ultimately up to the security people on the day, and in the current 'War on Terror' climate they do err on the side of caution.

By the way ( this isn't aimed at you particularly, but at anyone who takes cameras into auditoria ), as a performer and lighting designer can I ask you to be sure you know how to switch off the flash on your camera - it won't help your photograph at that distance and is very nastily distracting for performers - and you really can't afford to be distracted if you're doing one of the sword fights in the current West End "Zorro".

I really do hope you enjoy the show.

  2. Yes, your allowed, and if your still worried, put it in your bag, (hide it.)  Good luck!!
