  1. good time to go. not too hot. some rainstorms etc., but mostly around 80 degrees or under. since it is florida, it is always humid.

buy the park hopper passes, and meals, but don't purchase meals for all days, since you will never use them all.

if you are staying on a park property, you will get special times to go to the parks when only guests in atraction hotels are allowed in.

also, if you want a character breakfast, make reservations now, by booking on disney.com.

you really have to plan things like the character meals, as they book up sometimes a year in advance.

    have fun.

  2. well if your coming from california you will be used to hot weather. its a nice time of year before it gets too warm in florida.

Buy the park hopper ticket so that you can check out all the different parks. spend one full day at each park. Always relax in the afternoon as the lines can get a bit much and you will get tired and groggy. try and get to see the night time shows in each park. especially spectro magic in magic kingdom.

    most of all have fun!!!

  3. i feel ray z has covered all the major points, i went last year (i live in london as you can tell) and fcuking loved it!!! as said great time of the year, not too busy which means less queues for rides...off peak so it should be cheaper...the main thing is ....HAVE A GOOD TIME!!!

  4. I'm from CA and went for the first time in November.  Definitely be prepared for rain at any time, even if it's 85 degrees outside!  Pack a little bit of everything, jackets, jeans, shorts, long and short sleeve shirts, bathing suits...etc.

but most of all, have a blast!

  5. I've been 20 times, and have just released (less than 2 weeks ago!) a website for first time visitors--http://yourfirstvisit.net/.  There's a lot of good stuff for you there.

In particular I have a whole section on the weather that begins here: http://yourfirstvisit.net/planning-your-...

    Hope this helps!!  Dave

  6. the weather will be hot

take all the experience u know from california disneyland

and take that same experience with u to walt disney world

    its the same thing

bring ur own water if u want to be cheap

u can even bring ur own food

but bring it on a carry-on

yes of course they will check

but if u have small children with u

theyre not gonna take it out

    not if theyre real anal

but most of the time theyre not

bc that will hold up the lines and everyone is doing it

even if u bring ur own food

they know ur gonna b tempted in buying their themepark food anyways

so its not like teyre losing u as a customer

they can make money off of u someplace else

    like buying gifts and souvenirs

    bring swim suits of course

    at least two

u might want to go swimming at the beaches or the hotel pools

go to the amusement park early of course

    bring a small portable fan

    bc its gonna b hot

    bring comfortable tennis shoes

  7. Expect to deal with at least one shower storm. Due to the weather patterns there, it rains several times every week. Not a lot at once most of the time, but be prepared. Also, park hoppers are excellent. Suggestion: On the day you go to Animal Kingdom, also plan on going to another park that you didn't finish or plan on finishing that same day. This is due to the fact that Animal Kingdom closes much earlier than the other parks.

Also, here is a best kept secret. You can ask a Disney Cast Member to let you ride in the front of the monerail with the driver. Not many people know you can do that, so try it once.

Another thing, be sure to take advantage of the fast passes for some of the rides with long rides. This way you can ride another ride and then practically get on the ride you have a fast pass for immediately. Both of these things are free.

One more suggestion: buy a hidden mickey booklet in one of the shops. This will make your trip even better.

  8. most have giving you great advices. i will give you some tips that were not discussed.

Don't wear cotton. it absorbs your sweat and, because of the humidity, will not dry quickly. this will make your clothing heavy and make you even hotter. go the the sports section of a store (target, sports authority, etc.) and get Dry Wik (name changes by manufacture but properties are the same) shirts and clothing. these are synthetic material that are designed to stay dry and to breath and help keep you cool. plus, with the water rides, water playground areas, etc. you will probably end up wet even if its not too hot.

buy cheap disposable rain ponchos. they are under $1 each and are about the size of a wallet. you can throw them in your bags or a back pocket and in case it rains you are ready.

IF you are staying at a Disney hotel take advantage of the early morning admissions. check with guest relations when you check in. some morning you will be able to go into the park 1 hour before everyone else. you would be surprised how much you can get done in that hour. all you will need is your room keys (one per guest) to have access to this privilege.

if you are not staying on property, get to the parks early, especially magic kingdom. unlike Disneyland, this parks has the longest travel time between parking lot and park (you will see what i mean when you get there). the first hour when the park opens is lighter than it will be in an hour or two and you can get a lot done. hit major attractions first. those lines will get longer with time.

and last, drink lots of liquids. i don't know if you are coming from south or north California but its easy to get dehydrated in the Florida heat. other than that i can't think of anything else. have fun. i am an annual passholder, live minutes away from the parks and was just there last weekend.

  9. well, i live in Georgia and i went ONCE to Florida disney world. it rained ONE day, and the rest was sunny and HOT AS A BURNING PIT. but coming from California, I wouldn't expect it to feel that hot. HAVE FUN!
