The former Sampdoria boss believes Christian Maggio did not handle the ball, and the refereeing decisions have cost his team almost five points this season
Napoli manager, Walter Mazzarri, is livid with the referee after his team’s goalless stalemate against Cesena on Wednesday, February 1, 2012.
The Partenopei side picked up their 9th draw of the season, and their chances of finishing in the top three were handed a serious blow. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Goran-Pandev-c15161 had a goal disallowed by the linesman for unknown reasons in the stoppage
time of the game. The referee waived a foul for hand-ball against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Christian-Maggio-c9098, who provided the assist.
Mazzarri insisted that the Italian used his chest to control the ball rather than his hand. The manager is furious with the referee and has slammed him for the poor behaviour he showed after the decision. He insisted that his team
has been robbed by another two points by the referee as it has been the case throughout the season.
While talking to the reporters, Mazzarri said,
“I am sick and tired of this, as we lost another two points today due to the official and his behaviour. The referee had a terrible game and made many mistakes against us. He had a huge effect on the match, preventing us from getting
the deserved victory.”
The 50-year-old believes that his team played good football and deserved to take all three points from the game if it were not for the referee’s decision. The former Sampdoria star insisted that they have been patient with the
refereeing errors for some time, but this result has forced him to end his patience.
“Other than the goal, there were some incorrect offside decisions and the referee didn’t send off a Cesena player for using his elbow. Up until now we have stayed silent, but we can’t keep pretending that nothing is happening.
In the last three rounds we have been robbed of at least five points."
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Napoli-c40003 remain 7th in the league with 30 points from 21 matches played so far this season. They will play A.C Milan in their next game on Sunday, February 5, 2012.
