Walter Mazzarri downplays any rift with Aurelio De Laurentiis

The head coach of the Napoli football club quashed reports that he has a strained relation with the club President which is coming between him signing an extension.
Mazzarri and De Laurentiis have been at odds more than once and there are reports emanating that suggest that the tactician is holding back from signing a signature due to a rift between him and the owner of the club.
He categorically stated that there were no issues between him and the manager and that anything stated otherwise was just fabricated news. Mazzarri went on to state that he was a believer in the fact that people should express their
opinions and also believed that a difference in opinion can work in the better understanding between two people.
The Italian has been a big part of the struggle of the Vesuviani outfit to break into the top tier of Italian football, and many are expected them to launch a strong challenge in the current season. The good work done by Edy Reja was
carried on by the former Sampdoria head coach and he transformed the club into a highly attacking outfit with the trio of Hamsik-Cavani-Lavezzi.
During his interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport, Mazzarri went on to state that having disagreements were not always a negative thing. He went on to state:
“I believe there should be a strong exchange of opinions with the club owner and, strangely, it may well be positive to have disagreements, as it allows them to understand each other.”
He also went on to clarify his stance on confirming his contract extension and remarked that if the club were to offer him one, he would be happy, but also stated that he would turn it down as well. He remarked:
“If the President were to offer it, then I would thank him, but I have already said that I need to further motivate the squad and put myself in the firing line, so it’s only right that I wait. There will be the right time and place to discuss it towards
the end of the season.”
