The head coach of the Naples outfit has gone on to remark that the Bianconeri were a tough team to beat, and went on to laud his team for their effort in the match.
The match against Udinese and Napoli was a keenly anticipated, as both the sides are looking to prove a point at this stage of the Serie A. However, the two clubs find themselves in entirely different scenarios, as the Vesuviani outfit is looking to seriously
challenge for the Scudetto in this season, and wants to put as much pressure as possible on Juventus.
This is in stark contrast to the situation Udinese are in, as they are currently fighting to get out of the relegation zone, and have only collected two wins in their matches spanning all the competitions. This is an abysmal return for the quality expected
of Udinese and Guidolin has remarked that they are looking to mend their ways and get back on track.
The Udine side were riding high from their Europa League victory against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Napoli-c40003,
who fell in the Europa League to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/PSV-c40281, and were thrashed by the Eindhoven side, and the match ended 3-0.
Despite the fact that Mazzarri rested key players for the match against PSV, the result did affect the team, and the head coach of the Vesuviani outfit remarked that he had doubts about the strength his squad has.
The Partenopei side proved the doubts of their manager to be wrong, as they went on to secure victory against Udinese, with a decent score line. It was not a one sided match and Udinese gave Napoli a run for their money. Mazzarri commented:
“At the end of the day we did deserve the victory, but compliments to Udinese for their performance. I would’ve preferred to win in a more comfortable way, but last season we didn’t tend to win these games at all, so it is a sign of growth.”
Napoli are still joint top and keeping the pressure on Juventus.
